Bison wilderness

The “Wisent Wilderness” is a peephole into the species protection project. Because the wild bison normally hide from view, the “Bison Wilderness” was created for interested visitors. A second herd lives there. It has found its home in a largely natural area. It therefore represents a representative section of the real habitat of the free-living herd in the Rothaar Mountains.
